For the first time, the Internal Revenue Service has posted a Spanish version of Form 1040 and related instructions. Both are available as PDF downloads on the agency’s site at IRS.gov, the IRS said this week.
The Earned Income Tax Assistant tool is also now available in Spanish, along with Form W-4 for Spanish language PDF and the Form 1040-SR in English and Spanish with larger print and a standard deduction chart.
In addition, the IRS noted IRS Publication 17, Your Federal Income Tax, “has been streamlined for tax year 2020” and is now available in PDF downloads in Spanish, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Vietnamese, Korean and Russian.
Also available in multiple languages is Publication 1, Your Rights as a Taxpayer, and other basic tax information are now available in 20 languages
The IRS incorporates multilingual information in its social media platforms, including Twitter and Instagram, highlight in key messages in Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Korean, Haitian Creole and Chinese, using both Twitter Moments and Instagram Highlights.
