Technology Ahead: Cloud, Mobile and Infections?

The question of what's ahead in technology in 2016 for accounting firms, compared to what's looming for consumers and other businesses are probably two different things. That was shown at last fall's Thomson Synergy conference when company talked about plans for the roll out its Onvio cloud tax and accounting suite. A lot of attendees were more worried about moving from the Creative Solutions CS application to the not-exactly new Accounting CS.
Mackintosh Leaves, Marx Takes over in Wolters Kluwer Reorg

Teresa Mackintosh has left Wolters Kluwers as the company reorganized its tax and accounting business. Jason Marx, formerly head of the company's CCH Small Firm Services unit, has taken over as CEO of the new Tax and Accounting North America, which combines SFS with the group that markets the CCH ProSystem and Axcess lines.
FreshBooks Revamps iOS App

FreshBooks has launched a redesigned iOS app to work with the iPhone and iPad. The company says the app "features a simpler, more intuitive interface, designed to encourage proactive billing habits, make it easier to stay on top of cash flow, and to help customers run their business three times faster."
