Bloomberg BNA has named new presidents of its Cross Platform and Legal Divisions. The company promoted Mike MacKay to become head of the Cross Platform Division, which provides marketing and live-event services to the company's clients. It also appointed Scott Mozarsky, who had run that operation, to replace David Perla as president of the Legal Division.

Intuit has added a number of measures to provide great security for preparers using Lacerte, ProSeries and ProConnect Tax Online. The announcement follows a recent meeting of the IRS Security Summit, which has developed industry requirements for authentication for online and desktop professional tax products.

Renewals under the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number program are now being accepted by Internal Revenue Service. The IRS notes that under a 2015 law, any ITIN not used at least once in the last three years will not be valid on tax return after this year ends. The IRS also says it is providing a wider effort to educate those needing this form of identification.
