Each year, Dana "Rick" Richardson produces a list of technology predictions both for the near future and for the long term. This year's list, as  usual, has been presented at conferences such as the American Institute of CPA's Tech Plus  and those of some state CPA societies.

David Bergstein, CPA, CITP, a long-time manager at CCH, has taken a position with Intuit. Mostly recently director of strategic relationships for CCH, Bergstein joined Intuit as cloud consultant. He joined the company in June 2004 and is the latest in a number of tax and accounting veterans who have left the tax and accounting giant.

Investors from the United States kicked in a majority of the money as New Zealand-based Xero said it had raised $150 million in new funding. Contributors in this country chipped in $123 million of the total, which is aimed at expanding the online accounting software company's efforts here.
