Software Boosts Wolters Kluwer in 2014

nancy mckinstry ar07Wolters Kluwer's Tax and Accounting operations turned in a 2-percent drop in revenue for the year ended December 31 but showed a rise in organic revenue. And the company was happy that software revenue in North America grew by 5 percent over 2013 and the company expects strong growth in software sales this year. The drop in tax and accounting revenue reflected the transfer last year of some assets to the company's Legal & Regulatory division.

Bill.Com Raises $50 Million

bill-comBill.com, which markets web-based invoicing services, has closed a financing round of $50 million. The company intends to use the proceeds to fuel growth on the heels of doubling its business in the last 12 months. The latest round brings the amount the company has raised to more than $100 million.

SEC: Former CPA Ignored Order

David Rivard, former CPAThe Securities and Exchange Commission is seeking force a former CPA, who it claims ignored its barring him from practice, to obey its orders. The agency said the former accountant, David Rivard, involved in accounting fraud at the former Computer Associates, failed to pay a civil money judgment and also began working as a financial consultant who prepared financial statements, despite the SEC’s action and the loss of his CPA license.
