Blucora, which owns the TaxAct software line, has named John Clendening as president and CEO effective April 4. Clendening is replacing William Ruckelshaus. The hiring of Clendening, who had executive roles at Charles Schwab Bank and Charles Schwab & Co. follows Blucora's acquisition of HD Vest on December 31.

Compensation for Nancy McKinstry, CEO of Wolters Kluwer, was 7.5-percent higher for the year ended December 31 than in 2014. The pay figures are part of the remuneration report that is included in the publishing company's annual report, which was released last week.
