Abila, which produces nonprofit accounting and fund-raising software, has named four of its resellers to the Abila President's Circle. The four were honored at the company's recent conference, AUDC 2015 (Abila Users and Developers Conference) in Austin, Texas. The software company also presented excellence awards to several of its nonprofit customers.

A Florida CPA has been arrested for allegedly stealing nearly $200,000 from an elderly client. The Sarasota County's Sheriff's Office has accused CPA Brian Strand of stealing the money, withdrawing much of it via ATMs at area casinos.

Xero and Intuit have both expanded the links between their accounting software packages and ecommerce vendors. Xero has integrated its system with Shopify, an online company based in Canada, while Intuit has established integration between QuickBooks Online and both Shopify and Big commerce, based in Australia.

The Sleeter Group, which has been known for its annual small business accounting show, has been acquired by Diversified Communications. The purchaser is described as a family-owned, international media company. Founder Doug Sleeter remains with the company and his staff will continue working from the Pleasanton, Calif., office under the new ownership.
