Ohio has become the first government agency in the world to accept Bitcoin for tax payments. The state has opened a website, OhioCrypto.com, to accept the cryptocurrency for payment 23 kinds of business taxes, including sales and withholding taxes, with other cryptocurrencies to be considered.

Paychex has signed an agreement to buy Oasis Outsourcing, a privately held professional employer organization for $1.2 billion in cash. Oasis has 8,400 clients using HR applications, employee benefits, payroll administration and risk management services.

Subscriber growth for Intuit’s QuickBooks Online continues to outstrip increases for smaller rival Xero. The software company reported a 40.6-percent rise in QBO subscribers when it issued its financial results this week for the first quarter ended October 30. That compares to a 32-percent-year-over-year increase for Xero’s first half ended September 30.
