JTH Holding was forced to issue a statement this week that its financial reports cannot be relied upon after the SEC questioned revenue recognition policies. The company, parent of Liberty Tax Service, said any changes are unlikely to be material when the reports are restated.

The Tax & Accounting business posted Thomson Reuters' strongest results in the second quarter ended June 30 as the company reported weak performance overall. Revenue for the business benefited from acquisitions that pushed the total up by 7 percent, 3 percent organically.

Wolters Kluwer, parent to CCH, turned in essentially flat results for the first half ended June 30, as weakness in print publishing and EMEA countered growth in electronic products, including tax and accounting software. On a constant currency basis, ordinary net income was down 1 percent for the most recently ended period while worldwide revenue rose by 1 percent.
