Intuit's QuickBase Suffers Outage

Intuit has suffered a lengthy outage with QuickBase, an online database that that is utilized to develop online applications. Also knocked out was the Accountant’s Copy File Transfer Service in the QuickBooks Accountant’s Edition. As indicated by postings on the QuickBase Facebook page, users were complaining the system was unavailable much of Tuesday, July 20, and all of Wednesday, July 21, until service was restored about 9pm ET.
New Block CEO Gets Jet Use for Commute

When former CEO Thomas Bloch said he wouldn't serve another term as an H&R Block director he wrote he hoped new CEO Alan Bennett would move to the company' home in Kansas City, Mo. He also criticized Bennett's pay package. But that package shows Bennett isn't ready to pull up roots yet as the new executive and his family get use of the company's Net Jet share for one trip per week from their Connecticut and Florida residences.
Liberty Tax Founder Interested in Block

John Hewitt, CEO of Liberty Tax and founder of Jackson Hewitt, would like to arrange a deal that would bring him to a leadership position in H&R Block, which is in management turmoil. That was the picture painted this week by a story from the Associated Press. Liberty Tax itself did not issue a formal statement.
