Revenue from Intuit's Accounting Professional segment - its professional tax software business -  produced $225 million in the nine months ended April 30, an increase of 6 percent from last year's corresponding period. But the number of units sold fell, and while that was only a decline of 1,000, it continued the trend of the last few years.

Concur, which markets travel-and-expense-management products and services, has launched the Concur Advisor Program. The program is designed for accountants and other SMB consultants and advisors and offers access to the company's software, along with technical support.

The online payroll service, Run Powered by ADP, is now available for the Android smartphone operating platform. Run clients can download the free mobile app for managing and processing payroll for employees and contractors through the mobile device. The payroll service was made available on the iPhone, iPad and iPod last fall with support for Blackberrys soon to be available.
