SmartVault 3.2 puts the online document management vendor into the portal business and has an option that enables firms to brand client portals. The new version also makes it easier for other developers to integrate their products with the application. "The main new thing is SmartVault is that we are getting into the portal business," says CEO Eric Pulaski.
Branding includes the ability to attach a company logo and customize colors and links at all points, including the portal sign-in page, notification emails and subdomain names. The capability is available to purchasers of the Professional plan, which is priced at $69 per month for five users.
Pulaski notes that the system enables sharing of files and folders as the system generates messages that email links and the recipients are then able to download the documents via an encrypted link. The Professional edition offers 30GB Web storage. Purchasers also get SmartVault's Premium Support, the ability to add users at a discounted price and 6GB storage for each additional user.
In addition, the company has made an application programming interface available so that third-party developers can write applications that integrate with SmartVault.
