A Contractor Payments feature is being made available for QuickBooks Online. This option enables customers to pay contractors with direct deposit.
Inuit says the feature, which can be added to subscriptions at the time of purchase, “will start rolling out soon” and will be available to most accountants by summer. Contractor Payments also means small businesses can pay contractors with same-day direct deposit and complete 1099 efiling at no additional cost Intuit says.
Also by the end of 2021, a stand-alone QBO Payroll option will be available for firm-billed clients to accounts to add payroll for clients who do not have a QBO subscription. Pricing for these clients will be available at the end of June
Intuit says the option will help with clients that only want to run payroll and those who no longer need a QBO subscription.
In addition, Intuit will soon introduce a dashboard in the Clients section of QBO Accountant. The dashboard will provide a view of all client payroll activities.
