Vertex is launching Vertex Innovation Labs, designed to provide information on new technologies. The indirect tax software company said this week the labs offers users the chance to discuss ideas Vertex is developing and to co-develop projects.

Avalara has purchased Compli, a move which puts in the market for alcoholic beverage compliance. Based in Paso Robles, Calif, Compli markets compliance services, technology, and software to producers, distributors, and importers of alcoholic beverages in the United States.

ACL has acquired Rsam, a Secaucus, N.J.-based company, which marketsIT, vendor, and security risk management applications. Terms were not disclosed. ACL, whose products include audit management software, says the deal more than doubles its research and development capacity.
