Israelis, Firm Settle Charged in Shell Scheme

Three Israel residents, a Washington, D.C.-based attorney and an Israeli auditor and his Maryland accounting firm have been accused of fraud in creating numerous shall companies. About $2.1 million disgorgement and pre-judgment interest was assessed against the parties.
ADP Adds Tax Reform Resources

Automatic Data Processing has added a variety of resources about tax reform to its Accountant Connect dashboard. The payroll services company, working with Wolters Kluwer/CCH has recently made available onine courses and webcasts.

Blucora Returns to Profitability

Blucora bounced back to the black for the year ended December 31. The parent of TaxAct, Blucora reported 2017 earnings of $27 million, a swing from a loss of $65.2 million in 2016 as revenue rose by 12 percent.
