Refunds for those claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Additional Child Tax Credit should begin arriving soon. The Internal Revenue Service says many of these will be available in bank accounts or on debit cards this week.

Intuit registered strong revenue growth for the second quarter ended January 31. The company lost $20 million for the most recently ended period, compared to net income of $13 million a year earlier. But since the second quarter does not reflect much of tax season, it is typically not one of the strongest periods for the year.

H&R Block has named Tiffany Scalzitti Monroe as its new chief people officer, effective March 5. She will have responsibility for organizational and performance management, talent development and on- and off-boarding Block’s tax season workforce.
