Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

 Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.

With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.

In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.

Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and

filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those 

They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

PCAOB Bars McGladrey Partner

Dale Hotz, McGladreyThe Public Company Accounting Oversight Board has barred a McGladrey partner from being associated with a registered accounting firm for two years. PCAOB barred Dale Hotz, a partner in the firm's Frederick, Md., office, and also disciplined two former McGladrey directors for their alleged roles in altering and backdating documents prior to an inspection by the agency.

CCH Biz Turns Up in Third Quarter

Nancy McKinstry, Wolters KluwerWolters Kluwer said last week that its tax and accounting business, largely CCH's operations, "improved to positive organic growth" for the third quarter ended September 30. That statement was part of the trading update issued for the period.

ADP Net Increase Slim for First Quarter

Carlos Rodriquez, ADPAutomatic Data Processing eked out a less than 1-percent increase in net income for the first quarter ended September 30, on a 5-percent increase in revenue. The net was dented by several factors that countered what was pictured as good performance in areas such as payroll services.

Thomson Tax and Accounting Revs Up 10%


Thomson logoRevenue for Thomson Reuters' Tax and Accounting business rose by 10 percent for the third quarter ended September 30, spurred by acquisitions and software sales. EDBITDA increased by 3 percent over the prior year. Organic growth for tax and accounting was 3 percent. That came as company-wide revenue fell by 1 percent and profit by 15 percent before the impact of currency changes. Read more...

Family Stole and Pleads Together in ID Theft

Justice logoSix members of an Alabama family accused of using a family tax service to file phony returns have pleaded guilty to a variety of charges stem from ID theft. The Justice Department said the defendants and co-conspirators participated in filing more than 700 returns that claimed more than $1.3 million in refunds.

Intacct Gets $13.5M in Funds

Intacct logoIntacct, which makes Internet-based financial applications, has raised $13.5 million in funding through a combination of equity investments and a bank line of credit.
