Rippling Expands EOR Program 2
Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.
With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.
In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.
Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and
filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those
They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

Porte Brown Enters Indiana with Acquisition

Porte Brown, a CPA firm based in Elk Grove Village, Ill., has Meador Stratton, LLP, based in Highland, Ind., the third acquisition by Porte Brown in 2011 and its first in Indiana. Porte Brown says it now employs more than 75 pepole and has doubled its size over the last five years through the acquisition of seven accounting firms. Read more...

The Reznick Group has acquired technical consulting firm Think Energy. The new entity, which will be called Reznick Think Energy, has technical experience in clean energy, sustainability, and energy efficiency, the new subsidiary will provide a range of services including investor due diligence, on-site renewable energy feasibility assessments, procurement management, technology assessment, and permitting support.

The American Institute of CPAs has added Interactive Tax Checklists to its Tax Practice Guides and Checklists. The new checklists enable a firm's staff members to work online collaboratively within the same document. Checklists can be accessed on the web via a secure login. Interactive checklists are available for 2011 for Forms 1040 and 1120. More forms will be added in the next release. The new checklists are available for sale through www.cpa2biz.com, but are free to AICPA Tax Section members.

Delois Warren, a tax preparer based in Greensboro, Ala., has been barred from preparing federal tax returns for others by a federal court. Warren, who operates Branjalo Tax Service, was enjoined for claiming bogus earned-income tax credits and first-time-homebuyer credits for her customers. Read more...

Paychex has appointed Sanjay Hiranandani as VP of information technology operations. He was most recently SVP and chief technology officer of the former PAETEC Holding Corp., which was acquired earlier this month by Windstream. He reports to Michael Gioja, SVP of IT, product management and development, who was promoted to his position in July.
