Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

 Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.

With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.

In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.

Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and

filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those 

They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

AICPAThe American Institute of CPAs has developed reporting options for organizations that utilize Internet-based services. The new Service Organization Control reports, formerly called SAS 70 reports, are designed to help companies that outsource services or tasks to third parties.

NetSuite Nabs Baker Tilly in Cloud Fight

Baker Tilly has joined NetSuite's channel program as a trend is building for large CPA firms to enter alliances with vendors of Internet-based accounting applications. In the last few months, rival Intacct has landed several accounting firms, including most recently Clifton Gunderson. This is the first major firm to join the NetSuite Solution Provider since Eide Bailly was announced in the program's roll out last spring.

ADP: 9 Percent Rev Growth for FY 2011

Gary ButlerWith its business showing a broad range of improvement, Automatic Data Processing is anticipating revenue growth of about 9 percent year-over-year for the year ending June 30. The company is also expecting about five percent growth in earnings per share, according to remarks made by CEO Gary Butler in the company's recent earnings conference call.

Paychex Exec Shake Up Continues

Andrew ChildsPaychex continues to see change in its executive ranks as the company appears to be restocking under Martin Mucci, who took over as CEO in September. The company recently named a new VP of human resources and filled the new position of VP of marketing. It had appointed a new VP of payroll sales in November along with two new members of the company's board of directors.

XCM, SpeedTax Team Up in CPA Program

Glen KeenanXCM Solutions, which markets workflow applications, and sales-and-use tax vendor SpeedTax, have joined in a program with scanner vendor Fujitsu. The companies says the alliance is aimed at educating accountants on the implementation and use of their products. The partners to hold events at conferences, possbily utilizing the common booths and having shared speaking engagements.

ADP Readying Broad Mobile Payroll Rollout

Gary ButlerAutomatic Data Processing, which has offered a limited test of a mobile application for its Run payroll system, is getting ready to make mobile applications available across its client base. Run was available for the iPhone and iPad, but will now be operating on the Blackberry and Android devices. They company already had "well over 1,000 people", using the mobile version of Run, according to CEO Gary Butler, speaking during this week's earnings conference call. Read more...

SmartVault, which makes document storage products has named Mark Miller, as VP of sales and support. Miller, who will report to CEO Eric Pulaski, was previously VP of sales at Scalabel Software and held several senior management positions at Bindview Corp.

Peachtree Gets Sales Tax Connector

Avalara logoAvalara has filled in a missing link in its list of connectors to accounting packages with the addition of a connector for Sage’s Peachtree line. The connector, which is beta testa, enables Peachtree users to utilize the functionality of the company's AvaTax sales and use tax software. The connector is expected to be available in 30 to 45 days.

BNA Fixed Assets 2011.0

Bna Software LogoVersion 2011.0 of the BNA Fixed Assets platform incorporates 12 major tax law changes and related forms affecting fixed asset management and depreciation provided for in the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010. The version updates products including BNA Fixed Assets Desktop, DesktopPro and Server. The new version addresses tax law changes providing for the 100-percent bonus depreciation deduction, as well as the Section 179 expensing changes.
