Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.
With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.
In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.
Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and
filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those

Canopy, which markets practice management applications, has raised $20 million in Series B financing. The latest round brings the total funding raised by the Lehi, Utah-based company to $30 million.
Wolters Kluwer to Buy Tagetik

Wolters Kluwer has reached an agreement to acquire Tagetik for about $317 million in cash. When the deal is complete, Wolters Kluwer will bring Tagetik together with its corporate products, including TeamMate, in a new unit, Corporate Performance Solutions.

Abacus Next, which provides software for legal professionals, has entered the CPA market with the purchase of Cloudnine Realtime and Results Software. Cloudnine hosts applications such as those from Intuit, Sage and Microsoft while Results produces CRM packages for QuickBooks users.

Revenue for Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting rose 4 percent for the year ended December 31. Operating profits for the unit increased by 1 percent as the company this week reported solid contributions from on-premise and cloud-based software, but a decline in research and learning income.

Wave Signs Lending Deal

Cloud-based accounting software vendor Wave has signed an agreement to provide business loans and lines of credit through OnDeck. Under the name "Lending by Wave" the program will be available to Wave customers in the United States and Canada.
Thomson Says 2016 Results OK
The performance of the professional tax and professional segments of its Tax and Accounting business was strong for Thomson Reuters for the year ended December 31. However, that units' overall performance was sapped by the continuing weak results for its government business.
