Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

 Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.

With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.

In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.

Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and

filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those 

They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

Xero Integrates with Power BI

XeroXero has integrated its low-cost accounting software with Microsoft Power BI. The New Zealand-based cloud software vendor says the link will provide its users with an easier way to access and analyze information from Xero and other packages.

FreshBooks Redesigned

Mike McDerment, FreshBooksFreshBooks, the online accounting application, has been redesigned with a summer release scheduled for the new version, according to a letter by CEO and co-founder Mike McDerment. McDerment said the update is needed to enable the company to meet its goal of serving self-employed professionals and their teams.

An Exposure Draft about revisions to standards for continuing professional education has been reissued by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy and the American Institute of CPAs. The Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education  received 51 comments in the initial period for public comment from April through October last year.

Prices Published for Sage Live

SagePrices have been published for three editions of Sage Live, the new online accounting and business application from Sage. The product is described as being suited for small business users who need mobile access to accounting data. Pricing for both the United States and the United Kingdom have been placed on Sage's websites for the two countries.

Reckon Buys SmartVault

Eric Pualski, SmartVaultAustralia-based software vendor Reckon has acquired SmartVault, which markets document management applications. Reckon, once Intuit's QuickBooks distributor for its home country, markets online accounting packages in other nations and also the Virtual Cabinet document management system in the United States.

Practice IQ Becomes Karbon

Stuart McLeod, Karbon Practice IQ, a company founded by owners of a payroll company acquired by Xero, has changed its name to Karbon. Based in Sydney, Australia, and San Francisco, Calif., Karbon is bringing to market collaboration tools for accounting firms. Kabron describes its product, which is in the preview stage, as "the central place that weaves all your communication and client interactions together."

freshbooks2 on1 thumbFreshBooks has launched a redesigned iOS app to work with the iPhone and iPad. The company says the app "features a simpler, more intuitive interface, designed to encourage proactive billing habits, make it easier to stay on top of cash flow, and to help customers run their business three times faster."

Sage Hammers Out Payroll Plans

 Ray Barlow, SageSage has begun melding together its payroll offerings and making them available for a wider range of products. The company has established the Sage Payroll Center that enables accountants to resell payroll services. That is in addition to Payroll Essentials and Full Service Payroll.

Team Selling Drives Paychex Results

 Martin Mucci, PaychexPayroll service company Paychex said its team selling strategy helped push results higher for the second quarter ended November 30. Payroll revenue rose by 4 percent driven by an increase in the client base and revenue per check, CEO Martin Mucci said in the company's recent earnings webcast. HR revenue increased by double digits.

Blackbaud to Re-enter Reselling Market

 Chris Clinton, BlackbaudNonprofit vendor Blackbaud intends to re-enter the software reselling market next year. The Charleston, S.C.-based company outlined its plans recently during its Investors' Day. Blackbaud wants to use dealers to push its new cloud-based NXT line.
