The Internal Revenue Service this month is holding virtual and in-person information events in support of its effort to hire more than 4,000 customer service representatives. The effort comes as the the ability of the IRS to provide service declined during the pandemic.
Both English and English/Spanish positions are available full-time with no need for prior tax experience. A schedule of virtual events is available on the IRS website.
Interested job seekers are encouraged to bring resumés and two forms of identification, such as state driver's license and/or state identification card, birth certificate, U.S. passport, military ID or Social Security card. Qualified applicants will receive tentative job offers at the in-person events.
In-person events will be held in Andover, Mass.; Atlanta, Ga.; Philadelphia, Pa.; Fresno and Oakland, Calif.; Brookhaven, N.Y.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Memphis, Tenn.; and Caguas, Puerto Rico, with registration available on the IRS careers page.
