Intuit has begun applying the ProLine brand, already introduced with its new research and Internet-based tax products, to all professional tax and accounting applications on its Internet sites.

The company has not discussed whether actual name changes are planned. However, the phrase "Intuit ProLine Products and Services for Accounting Professionals" has been placed at the top of Web pages for the ProSeries and Lacerte tax packages,  QuickBooks and QuickBooks Payroll, productivity tools such as the Accountants Work Exchange and EasyAcct, and the QuickBooks ProAdvisor program.

RIVERWOODS, Ill. - The Kleinrock name will apparently go from being a research platform to a content brand name as CCH gives Kleinrock users a free subscription to its new IntelliConnect system.

 A spokesperson said that while the company has not finished its plans "the Kleinrock name will continue to exist for some online content and books (which will be branded Kleinrock), and we will also bring some of it under the CCH name as we bring them onto to the CCH online platform." At this week's Midwest Accounting and Financial Showcase in Rosemont, Ill., CCH president Mike Sabbatis said the company has migrated 80,000 users to IntelliConnect.

Virginia Beach, Va. – With the economy taking a toll on franchise sales, JTH Tax, which operates the Liberty Tax Service, saw a 28.4 percent decline in earnings on a 6.4 decrease in revenue for the year ended April 30.

Franchise fee revenue comes from the sale of franchisee territories and last year was a bad one for selling franchises, said Martha O’Gorman, the company’s chief marketing officer. “No one could borrow any money,” she explained. But she continued that “The good news is that we are seeing a significant recovery this year and our franchise sales are sky rocketing.  You should see that number return to normal or increase for FY 2010.”
