The American Institute of CPAs is seeking feedback on content in the new Core and Disciplines CPA Examination structure. This represents the next step in in the CPA Examination Practice Analysis to determine knowledge and skills newly licensed CPAS need.

Liberty Tax is expanding its operations with a small business service that features monthly bookkeeping, payroll services and business loans.  The new line will be built around Xero’s cloud accounting software, the companies said this week.

A Kissimmee, Fla.-based tax preparer has been ordered to pay $1.6 million in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service. Joseph Amaya was sentenced to pay the amount and sentenced to a year in federal prison for aiding and assisting in the preparation of false tax returns.
