Swenson Opens Sage Insights

Sage Software's brand-spankin' new CEO, Sue Swenson, opened their annual partner conference, Insights, at the also brand spankin' new Gaylord National on the banks of the Potomac across from Alexandria, Va.

Swenson handled her task with great aplomb, like the professional she obviously is. The Gaylord, on the other hand, struggled with it's largest convention to date. Swenson and the Gaylord each have about six weeks under their respective belts.

Swenson appeared on stage with a team of dancers (think Stomp!) and immediatly showed she had a better sense of humor than sense of rhythm. She spoke candidly and appeared sincere in her message -- Sage is a great company in a great business but it needs to work on improving the the many things it's good at. Business partners looking for a message of sweeping change will be disappointed, she quipped, and the audience seemed to approve.

The conference seems to be off to a geat start, as usual, and the show floor was a beehive of resellers meeting add-on product vendors in the Sage "eco-system."
