Thomson Reuters has added discussion of business combinations to Checkpoint Catalyst: U.S. GAAP. The content incorporates analysis of Topic 805, Business Combinations of the FASB Accounting Standards Codification, the authoritative accounting and reporting guide for business combinations under U.S. GAAP.

FreshBooks, which markets cloud accounting software, has raised $43 million in Series B Funding. The company expects to invest the funds to support North American growth and to support development of its latest product, launched in September.

Multi-office accounting firms continue to move into the cloud accounting space. The latest is Richmond, Va.-based Cherry Bekaert which has established an ERP consulting practice for the web-based application. That follows NetSuite's signing WithumSmith+Brown of Red Bank, N.J., in March.
