Intuit Picks Incoming CFO

Michelle Clatterbuck, IntuitIntuit has named Michelle Clatterbuck to take over the role of CFO on February 1. A long-term Intuit employee, Clatterbuck will replace Neil Williams, who is retiring at the end of January. Williams has served in that position since January 2008 when he joined the software company.

Avalara Hires Sales SVP

Greg Stivers, AvalaraAvalara has hired Greg Stivers as the sales tax company's first SVP of sales. Stivers comes to Avalara from Concur, where he worked as SVP of client development from July 2014 until joining Avalara job this month. The position is a new one for the software company.

KMPG to Pay $6M over Energy Audit

John Riordan, KPMGKPMG has agreed to pay more than $6 million in disgorgement, interest and civil money penalties for its role in the audit of a now bankrupt energy business. The Securities and Exchange Commission also slammed the firm for utilizing a partner with no experience with oil and gas companies given the high risk of its work with the former Miller Energy.
