Sage has agreed to sell its North American payments business to private equity firm GTCR. The latter company has agreed to pay $260 million for Sage Payment Solutions, which generates about $150 million in revenue. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter, the companies said recently.

eFileCabinet has released an update to SideKick, an instant access icon it introduced last year. The tool was developed to eliminate the need for users to toggle back and forth between programs when using eFileCabinet, a document management system.

BDO International Ltd. has named Keith Farlinger as CEO. Effective November 1, he will succeed Martin van Roekel. Farlinger is the former CEO of BDO Canada and currently serves as CEO of the Americas region on the BDO Global Leadership Team.
