A CPA detailed a series of family health emergencies and his resulting depression for the more than two years he failed to produce documents demanded by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. But the board barred Edwin "Ted" Reese Davis Jr. of Cedar City, Utah, from associating with any registered firm and revoked the registration of two firms he is affiliated with.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The National Society of Accountants is urging the Internal Revenue Service to delay e-filing regulations for paid tax preparers for a year. The regulations, which took effect this month, mandate that preparers who file at least 100 returns must using electronic filing this year.
