Tweets Be Gone

Using Twitter is a good idea, even for accountants. There are a few tools that will enhance your use of this shorthand messaging system. For example, there are times when you want to delete old tweets. This is accomplished by logging in to your Twitter account and deleting one at a time. When deleting one or two, this is easy. When you want to change the focus of a twitter and instead of tweeting about debits, you want to tweet about credits, there could be hundreds or even thousands of old tweets that need to be erased.

One at a time will take too much effort and it is not cost effective. TwitWipe is a small web-based utility that enables deleting all of the tweets in any one twitter account in one pass. Go to their website at www.twitwipe.com, enter the twitter account name and password, and click the on screen buttons to get started. Pause for a short while - do some filing, make a phone call or go get a hot beverage from down the hall.

By the time you return, all tweets are deleted from your account. The system does change the properties of your Twitter account, only the entered tweets. Note 1- the only choice today is to delete all, not just a specific time interval or with a word filter. Note 2- the author inserted a few four-letter words on the web page that are totally unnecessary but does not interrupt the process. And TwitWipe is free to use.
