It was a big year for payments software company Bill which passed the $1 billion revenue mark and also reported its first non-GAAP income for the year ended June 30.

 Xero has hired Ashley Grech to the newly created role of chief revenue officer. At the same time, the small business software company said chief customer officer Rachel Powell is leaving Xero after eight years.

 The plan for a free tax filing program by the Internal Revenue Service is not a threat to commercial providers, according to H&R Block CEO Jeff Jones. Jones made the comments during his company’s recent webcast for earnings for the year ended June 30.
