Sage Nonprofit Solutions has become Abila following its acquisition by Accel-KKR. The new names follows the March acquisition of the operations by the private equity firm from the Sage Group.

The Department of Justice is seeking to bar an Indiana woman from preparing federal tax returns for others. The department is accusing Cynthia Hawk, who operates Gain Tax Service, of creating phony business and fake business income to get clients maximum credits under the earned income tax credit.

Online accounting software vendor Wave has added Payroll Tax Service in 10 states. The company plans to roll out the service in the rest of the United States later this year.
