Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

 Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.

With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.

In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.

Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and

filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those 

They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

Blackbaud Mulls CPA Program

blackbaud_logo_Nonprofit vendor Blackbaud is considering the establishment of a CPA program. While the company is not ready to provide details of a proposed plan, it has begun bringing one firm on board in the new effort. The company is also likely to begin recruiting resellers after a lapse of several years.

PCAOB Nails E&Y for $2M

ernst-young-logoThe Public Company Accounting Oversight Board has imposed a $2 million civil money penalty on Ernst & Young and barred two partners from being associated with a registered public accounting firm.  It is the largest penalty ever imposed on a CPA firm. The action stemmed from the firm's audits of financial statements of Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp., which sells drugs for pediatric asthma and skin conditions.The board also censured E&Y and two other partners.

Thomson: Mobile App Users to Triple in 2012

Scott Fleszar, Thomson Reuters The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters predicts that the number of users of Mobile CS will triple this year. The company reports that there are more than 1,000 active user accounts. With the product's growth rate at about 15 percent a month, Thomson says the user base should reach 3,000 active accounts in 2012. Read more...

Intuit Halves Research Price for Tax Season

Blackbaud Readies Financial Analysis Tool

blackbaud_logoNonprofit vendor Blackbaud is testing an application that will be used to provide financial analysis for nonprofit organizations and give them the ability to compare their operations against those of their peers. The product is in the middle of an early adopter program and would likely be sold as an add on to the company's applications such as the Financial Edge.

Xero: Revs to Double for 2012

ADP Revs and Net Up


Carlos Rodriguez, ADPAutomatic Data Processing reported that its net income rose 20.9 percent while revenue climbed by 7.7 percent for the second quarter ended December 31. CEO Carlos Rodriguez said results were driven by strong new business growth in the most recently ended period. Read more...

Xero Ramps Up U.S. Efforts

Jamie Sutherland, XeroXero has been accelerating its effort to enlist accountants and small businesses in the United States. And while it already has firms that have signed up as part of its channel, the New Zealand-based company, which markets a web-based accounting application, has been getting more visibility since former Sage executive Jamie Sutherland joined as president of the U.S. operation.
