Rippling Expands EOR Program 2
Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.
With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.
In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.
Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and
filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those
They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

We have established a tradition of hosting a dinner sometime during CES
It seems to be the one time of the year that most (or at least many) of the Dream Team are, 1) All in the same place, and, 2) Relatively available. We all seem to see each other periodically throughout the year but most often we’ve schedule slammed and rushing to another class, meeting, or airport. And it’s usually only two or three of us.

The title of “grand-daddy” of user conferences in our profession goes to Thomson Reuters -- hands down. This conference has been held annually for 28 years. Originally called the Creative Solutions (CSI) User Conference, the name recently changed to match that of its owner company.
But, new name or not, the conference still has what it takes to attract a crowd and send them away enthused and invigorated. This week I attended and spoke at this conference for the 22nd consecutive year (yup, I missed a few at the the beginning), and for the 22nd consecutive time saw a whole raft of satisfied users at a conference that seems to always raise the bar in planning, organization and most importantly --- content.

This morning at the CCH User Conference in Palm Desert the keynote speaker was notable first in that he is less than half the age of a great many of the attendees -- including me.
Mike Sabbatis, CCH President and self-proclaimed 50-something year-old, spoke before Sheahan and was not only comfortable and conversational in his delivery, but absolutely spot-on in his analysis of the state of the profession and his intentions for company’s role in the profession tomorrow.

Auditors: Meet the IT World

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountant IT Executive and CITP Credential committees (full disclosure -- I am the chairman of the latter committee) recently collaborated to produce a three-and-a-half day training school to educate financial auditors about the impact of IT on reporting and auditing.
The course, called "IT Considerations in Risk-Based Financial Statement Audits," will be offered October 27-30 in New York City.

I've been watching MessageLabs for several years -- and they've firmly entrenched themselves as "the" go-to people in the world of email. They are major player in integrated messaging and web security services and claim over 18,000 clients from small business to Fortune 500 -- in 86 countries!
With that kind of customer base you'd expect that they have lots of interesting data to share -- and they do so regularly. Today's sharing of spam rates is evidence of that. Full release is after the jump.

Yesterday Intuit announced that it had signed up more than 50,000 accountants as paid members of its QuickBooks ProAdvisor® Program.
The program provides training, software, technical support, and other resources to tax and accounting practitioners using QuickBooks financial software. (And it provides Intuit a recurring revenue stream easily topping $25 million!)

Swenson Opens Sage Insights

Sage Software's brand-spankin' new CEO, Sue Swenson, opened their annual partner conference, Insights, at the also brand spankin' new Gaylord National on the banks of the Potomac across from Alexandria, Va.
Swenson handled her task with great aplomb, like the professional she obviously is. The Gaylord, on the other hand, struggled with it's largest convention to date. Swenson and the Gaylord each have about six weeks under their respective belts.
