Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

 Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.

With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.

In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.

Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and

filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those 

They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

Ex Liberty CEO Made $1.4 million

Liberty Tax paid CEO Nicole Ossenfort slightly more than $1.4 million in compensation for the year ended April 30. A proxy statement recently filed with the SEC also show that Ossenfort, who left the company in June, received another $981,000 in compensation under a release agreement.

Paychex has begun offering cyber liability protection its clients through Paychex Insurance Agency and AXIS Insurance Company. The policy helps business owners handle costs involved in the response and recovery after a cyber attack, up to specified policy limits.

1st Global Drives Blucora Results

The acquisition of 1st. Global boosted financial results for Blucora for the second quarter ended June 30. The addition of the investment firm to Blucora’s wealth management business, which includes HD Vest, led to a 23-percent rise in revenue for the most recently ended period.

Thomson Tax Pro Revs Rise 3 Percent

Revenue for Tax & Accounting Professional segment rose to $182 million for the second quarter ended June 30, an increase of 3 percent over $176 million a year ago, Thomson Reuters said this month. The company said revenue for small, mid and large accounting firms, 80 percent of the total, grew by 4 percent.

ADP Testing New Platforms

Automatic Data Processing is testing its new Lifion Human Capital Management Platform, payroll product and tax engine. CEO Carlos Rodriguez said in a recent web cast for earnings for the year ended June 30 that the company is selling the Lifion and payroll efforts on a limited basis, but is expanding sales.

Jennifer Warawa to Leave Sage

Jennifer Warawa, EVP of partners, accountants and alliances for Sage, has accepted an executice job outside the software industry. Warawa confirmed her plans to leave the software company on August 23 in a Facebook post after the information became public.

WK: Outage Financial Impact Not Major

Wolters Kluwer said the impact of May’s widespread system outage was not material to its results for the first quarter ended June 30. The company this week said otherwise it is too early to determine if there is any future impact from customer reaction to the malware attack that caused WK to take down its computer and phone systems with the severe outage lasting a week for some American customers.

Accounting firm Baker Tilly Virchow Krause has hired Brian Francese as a partner in ITS commercial practice. In his new position, he will lead phases of audit and attest engagements including audits of annual consolidated financial statements, internal controls and other agreed-upon procedures.
