Wolters Kluwer has reached an agreement to acquire Tagetik for about $317 million in cash. When the deal is complete, Wolters Kluwer will bring Tagetik together with its corporate products, including TeamMate, in a new unit, Corporate Performance Solutions.

Bonnie McWilliams Nagayama, who was well-known in the QuickBooks community, has passed away. President of the CPA firm McWilliams & Associates, Nagayama was described on Intuit's Firm of the Future website as "one of the elite few members of the Intuit Trainer/Writer Network." She founded her firm in October 1992.

Avalara, which markets cloud-based sales tax applications, will hold its second Crush conference in Austin, Texas, on May 2 and 3. The company says attendees will include accounting professionals and financial executives.
