Accounting firm Wiss has hired Alex Volpi to head its new Technology Advisory practice. Previously a senior consultant in the Technology Advisory of accounting firm CohnReznick, Volpi worked there from March 2019 until June this year.

Over breakfast, a group of CPAs at last month’s AIPCA Engage conference, discussing remote work, said there was no substitute for in-person work when it comes to training young accountants. Later that day, Jennifer Wilson, a partner with Convergence Coaching, said the objection is off base because training at most firms just isn’t that good.

 Accounting firms have a wide range of opportunities to provide cybersecurity services was the message as a session at the AICPA Engage conference last month. Steve J.
