RIVERWOODS, Ill. - The Kleinrock name will apparently go from being a research platform to a content brand name as CCH gives Kleinrock users a free subscription to its new IntelliConnect system.

 A spokesperson said that while the company has not finished its plans "the Kleinrock name will continue to exist for some online content and books (which will be branded Kleinrock), and we will also bring some of it under the CCH name as we bring them onto to the CCH online platform." At this week's Midwest Accounting and Financial Showcase in Rosemont, Ill., CCH president Mike Sabbatis said the company has migrated 80,000 users to IntelliConnect.

Virginia Beach, Va. – With the economy taking a toll on franchise sales, JTH Tax, which operates the Liberty Tax Service, saw a 28.4 percent decline in earnings on a 6.4 decrease in revenue for the year ended April 30.

Franchise fee revenue comes from the sale of franchisee territories and last year was a bad one for selling franchises, said Martha O’Gorman, the company’s chief marketing officer. “No one could borrow any money,” she explained. But she continued that “The good news is that we are seeing a significant recovery this year and our franchise sales are sky rocketing.  You should see that number return to normal or increase for FY 2010.”

ROSEMONT, Ill. – CCH and Intuit signaled their plans for broad Internet-product suites at the Midwest Accounting and Finance Showcase, suites that won’t quickly replace desktop-based software, but that represent the vendors’ development path over the next few years.

CCH delivered the most specific plans which include an October launch of SaaS-versions of ProSystem fx Tax, Document and Practice applications that will be tied together by a common database that will let them share information to eliminate the need to re-enter data, such as client contact information, into each application.
