QuickBooks Mobile for Android is designed for businesses using QuickBooks Pro, Premier and Online enabling users to perform such QuickBooks tasks as creating estimates, managing invoices and viewing customer details via mobile phones.The application automatically syncs with QuickBooks and provides access to customer and sales information.

Sage is shelving three services of SageSpark, its online application suite and portal for small businesses. A note on the Spark website says the company has dropped Payment Plus, Payment Boss and Known Locally, the latter a website hosting service, effective July 31. Billing Boss, which is reported to have 2.8 million customers in the United States and Canada, remains on the market.

Republic Bancorp has taken $2 million charge for a penalty it may have to pay because of its refund loan business. That meant the company's Tax Refund Solutions business had net income of $1.3 million for the second quarter ended June 30, a sharp drop from $3.1 million in last year's corresponding period.
