Intuit Suffers Major Web Outage

Intuit has suffered an Internet outage in which most of the company's Web sites have been down since about 10pm ET Tuesday, June 15 when an accident knocked out power to primary and secondary backup systems. It's the second company in the accounting space to have serious Internet problems since Sage had a 22-hour outage earlier this month. The Intuit problem's has surpassed the Sage outage in length of time with no end in sight as of 9pm. ET Wednesday, June 16.
Bill.com Raises $8.5 Million

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Bill.com, which makes Internet-based bill-payment products, has raised $8.5 million in venture capital, bringing the total amount it has raised to more than $25 million. The company said the additional funds will be used to continue its growth in providing applications and services to CPAs and small businesses.
Glocer Notes Thomson's Global Tax Plans

After taking other parts of the company global, Thomson Reuters' next plans involve taking its Tax & Accounting business global, CEO Tom Glocer said during the Webcast of an investor's conference this month. While he did not announce specific plans, such as additional details on the planned launch of the Global Tax Workstation, it was one of his most direct public statements about strategy for the tax and accounting operation.
