CCH’s Tax Prep Partner series has been expanded to cover non-profit, estate tax and payroll forms. Modules are now available for of seven return types: Form 990, Form 1041 and Payroll forms, as well as Forms 1040, 1065, 1120 and 1120S,  introduced last year. The online resource provides line-by-line explanations for the most common and complex areas of tax preparation. 

Intuit has introduced Customer Manager, a basic customer relationship management tool that is designed for companies with 20 or fewer employees. While it is not designed specifically at the accounting market, the company says small firms may find it suitable. But it's clear that Intuit is working on something more tailored for professional tax and accounting organizations.
