CPA Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion

A CPA based in Martha's Vineyard, Mass., has admitted he failed to report more than $800,000 in income. Roger A. Armstrong, 61, of Vineyard Haven this month pleaded guilty to three counts of filing false returns for tax years 2009 through 2011 in which he undereported business income.

Block, Intuit Court Uber Drivers

Kip Knight, H&R BlockIntuit and H&R Block put their software market battle on wheels this week with both companies promoting deals for Uber drivers. Intuit is offering Uber drivers free copies of its recently launched QuickBooks Online Self-Employed software. Block will provide those who drive for the mobile dispatched service discounts on tax preparation software.

Auto Dealer CPAs Opens Website

Patrick Pruett, Auto Dealer CPAs Auto Dealer CPAs, an association of accounting firms serving automobile dealers and their owners, has opened a new website. The group, which has 22 member firms, changed its name late last year from CPA Auto Dealer Consultants Association as it seeks to establish itself nationally.
