The Internal Revenue Service is starting a one-year pilot program next month for small businesses with retirement plans that owe penalties for not filing reporting documents. Businesses that file current and prior-year forms during the program, they can avoid penalties.

CPA2Biz has changed its name to CPA.com. While the name of the for-profit subsidiary of the American Institute of CPAs has already changed, the new branding will be gradually rolled out for it products and services over the next year.

Xero is moving its North American conference to the spring of 2015. The New Zealand-based cloud software company held its first conference in this country in September 2013 but has confirmed it will not be holding another this fall.
