Automatic Data Processing plans to launch the first in a series of business intelligence and analytic products this summer. The company is already testing these kinds of products in the market, products that draw from payroll data. It will probably take two years to completely roll out the new offerings.

The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters turned in a strong performance for the first quarter ended March 31.The unit had a 9.5- percent rise in operating earnings on a 6-percent increase in revenue. CCH Small Firm Services has joined with eFileCabinet to create a portal that integrates with its ATX and TaxWise tax preparation products. Developed by eFileCabinet, the new product, PortalSafe is owned and sold by the CCH organization. PortalSafe, is designed for the needs of the small accounting firms that use the tax products, according to Kerri Gibson, director of product management for SFS.

Two Indian chartered accountants have been barred from associating with a registered public accounting firm while a third has had his audit activities sharply limited for two years. The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board has taken the action against three partners of P. Parikh & Associates and has revoked the registration of the Mumbai, India-based company, while imposing a civil money penalty of $10,000 on the firm.
