Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.
With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.
In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.
Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and
filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those
They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

The American Institute of CPAs has opened the student website, ThisWaytoCPA.com, to international members. The site is designed to educate college students and CPA-exam candidates about the path to becoming a CPA, including registering for the CPA exam and becoming a U.S. CPA while living overseas.
Paychex Reports "Solid Year"

Payroll services provider Paychex has turned in what CEO Martin Mucci called a "solid year" as the company reported results for the year ended May 31. The company reported a 6-percent increase in net income on a 7-percent rise in revenue. However, its outlook for fiscal 2013 is in line with general expectations for sluggish economic growth.

Integration Points to CCH as Product Platform
CCH is signaling the possibility that the company's products will become a platform for commercial development, not just applications that are now open to add-in product development. The company moved in that direction as it formally announced this week its Open Integration Platform for sharing data and workflows within its cloud products.
Free RACs Gained Share; But Cost Block
H&R Block will not repeat its offer of free refund transfers, RACS, during the next tax season. And one reason is that probably that while the giveaway helped the tax services company gain market share it cost the company on the top and bottom line as income from tax services dropped by 34.7 percent and revenue fell by 1.7 percent for the year ended April 30.

Intuit has entered a new product arena with the introduction of QuickBooks Professional Bookkeeper. The company says the new product was designed in recognition of the different functions and career paths of professional bookkeepers.
Blackbaud Opens Referral Program
Blackbaud has opened a new Accountant Referral program that is designed to reward members for referring client to use the company's Financial Edge fund accounting software. The program is currently aimed at CPAs although the Charleston, S.C.-based firm might consider opening it to all accountants.

Three tax preparers have been indicted on charges they helped clients evade taxes by hiding millions of dollars in funds in secret accounts at two Israeli banks. The three operated under the name United Revenue Service in 12 locations across the country.

Liberty Parent Postpones IPO; Reports Results
JTH Holding, the parent of Liberty Tax Service, has postponed a planned initial public offering. However, the Virginia Beach, Va.-based company has decided that because of the number of shareholders it has, JTH will report financial results in compliance with SEC requirements.

A CPA who lives in Queens, N.Y., has been sentenced to two years in prison for failure to pay employment taxes due from his firm's operation. Silford Warren drew the sentence involving his nonpayment of taxes for his firm, Silford Warren CPA.
