Boogie Is Not Just a Dance

There continues to be talk and lots of wishes for a paperless office. There are many software programs, such as: OneNote, Sticky Notes, and EverNote. These all work well when you have the computer on. Sharing these notes takes a little more effort. Leaving notes on the refrigerator requires clips to hold paper scraps or write-on boards or cork bulletin boards with stick pins.

A step in the paperless direction can be viewed at www.myboogieboard.com. This new write once, then erase brings back memories of “etch-a-sketch” and the disappearing lines. More like a small write-on board, the Boogie Board is a 5”x7” very thin piece of plastic that enables writing on its black surface with its own stylus pen that resembles PDA writing devices. The simplicity of the Boogie Board is that when you are done with what you have written or sketched, press the surface button at the top and everything is gone.

Unlike the write-on you cannot just select one message or one section to erase, it is all or everything stays. This one button erase does make the board crisp and clear for whatever is to be written next. This digital writing board handles any drawing, sketch, or reminder notes. Further, the Boogie Board is a single use device. The board does not connect, link or synch with any other wired or wireless device. One optional accessory is a set of four magnets so the board can be placed on a metal surface so you can visually synch with people. For $35, this may just replace paper scraps note clutter.
