Jackson Hewitt Gets Assisted Transfer Funding

Tax preparation company Jackson Hewitt says it has secured funding for all of its stores for assisted transfers through Santa Barbara Tax Products Group for the upcoming tax season. However, it still hasn't found backing for 100 percent of its stores for refund anticipation loans, which is needed to meet the terms of its agreements with lenders.

Universal Business Computing Company has addedone-step client payroll import from QuickBooks for its payroll and write-up programs. Controls can be set to automatically adjust the employee number in QuickBooks to the one used by the payroll service bureau, as well as skip "0" checks, and reverse deductions, overheads and withholdings as needed.

A former Deloitte partner and his wife have been charged by the SEC with insider trading that allegedly yielded $3 million for them and the wife's sister and her husband. The latter two, both residents of England along with three other British residents, face similar charges in that country.
