Xero's North American CEO Resigns

Peter Karpas, XeroPeter Karpas, the CEO of Xero's North American operations, is stepping down from his job. The company made the disclosure earlier this month in a filing with the New Zealand Stock Exchange. It did not give an end date for Karpas, who was hired as the first person the position in February.

John Rettig, Bill.comBill.com has named two executives, John Rettig as CFO and Tanya Roberts as VP of corporate marketing. Rettig most recently served as the CFO of digital media company Exponential Interactive were he worked from 2007 until taking the job with Palo Alto, Calif.-based Bill.com.

Anthony J. Price,  KMJ Corbin & Co. The Securities and Exchange Commission has restored the ability of Anthony J. Price, audit partner with KMJ Corbin & Co. to practice before that body. Corbin was barred from practicing before the SEC in September 2010 for his role in the audits and reviews of the financial statements of Home Solutions of America.

Cohn New Sikich IT Partner

Larry Cohn, SikichLarry Cohn has become co-partner-in-charge of technology at CPA firm Sikich. Currently, Cohn is managing the practice along with long-time partner, Jeff Rudolph, who is retiring at the end of 2014. Rudolph joined Sikich in September 1998 via the merger of his business, Intelligent Computer Solutions, with the accounting firm then known as Sikich Gardner.

 Paul Bowers, PlanteMoranPlanteMoran has hired a new chief information officer, Paul Bowers. Bowers is replacing Doug Brady, the first person at the Southfield, Mich.-based firm to hold that title. Brady, who was been with the CPA firm since 1987, is retiring.

Jackson Hewitt Names New CEO

David Prokupek, Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Jackson Hewitt Tax Service has named David Prokupek, the former CEO of Smashburger, as its new president and CEO. The company's release on the subject made no mention of his predecessor, Harry Buckley, who took over the job in 2009. Prokupek stepped down from the Smashburger job in September after holding that position since 2010.

Peter Karpas, XeroXero has named PayPal executive Peter Karpas as the company's first North American CEO. And the New Zealand-based cloud software company showed the importance of the market in the United States by naming a former Microsoft CFO as the company's new chairman.
