RSM US has named Jeff Johannesen as chief strategy and innovation officer, effective June 1. He has served firm’s national tax leader since 2011 and since 2015 has served as executive sponsor for the firm’s client experience strategy.

Dan Wernikoff, the EVP who has led Intuit’s Consumer Group, is shifting roles. CEO Brad Smith said during this week’s earnings webcast that after Intuit ends its year on July 31, Wernikoff will move into a role working with Smith on strategic projects.

Baker Tilly Virchow Krause has selected Joseph Shanahan, director of sales for employee benefits. His  hiring comes as the firm grows its benefits and consulting practice. He will oversee new client acquisitions, along with implementing practice development strategies to determine client needs and opportunities in relation to employee benefits.

Sanjay Baskaran, president of TaxAct, has resigned his position. Blucora, TaxAct’s parent company, said this week Baskaran resigned immediately for personal reasons but will assist in the transition through August 1.
