The New York, N.Y.-based accounting firm selected the new partners from a wide range of practice areas, including tax and industry practices in offices in Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.

CEO Krista Endsley has left Abila after serving as CEO of the nonprofit software company since its formation in March 2013. Endsley has been replaced in the role at Austin, Texas-based Abila, by Craig Charlton, who has years of experience in the Epicor market.

Frazier & Deeter, an Atlanta, Ga.-based CPA firm has named three partners. The firm named Jennifer Gruner, a tax partner, and Jodi Prevost, an audit partner, both based in Atlanta, and Brandon Sherman, partner in the process, risk and governance practice in Nashville, Tenn.

Xero Replaces Chair

Xero has named Graham Smith as its chair. The executive replaces Chris Liddell, who resigned to join the administration of president Donald Trump. Liddell told the New Zealand-based company that accepting the job required him to resign the position he has held for three years.
H.D. Vest, TaxAct CEOs Named

Robert D. Oros has been named CEO of H.D. Vest. He takes over the job on February 28 when Roger Ochs steps down. Blucora, which owns H.D. Vest, also this month hired a Sanjay Baskaran as the new president for its other business segment, TaxAct.

AICPA Updates PFP Body of Knowledge

The Personal Financial Planning Body of Knowledge has been updated by the American Institute of CPAs. The new publication provides guidance and clarity on the competencies and information that CPAs who provide financial planning services need to know. The AICPA also plans to release a Global Personal Financial Planning Body of Knowledge this year.
